At the first MALT community meeting on The Covenant with Black America, held in October 2006, participants chose the topics they wanted to further explore. These were public education, the unequal justice system, and health care. The first concern, public education, was the focus of the June 2007 meeting. Individuals at this meeting generated many ideas. Several participants were eager to continue working together on some of these. We have scheduled a meeting of the MALT-Covenant Education Task Force to review data from the first gathering, refine the scope and purpose of the group, explore potential projects, and develop an action plan. Feel free to join in, even if you missed the first meeting.
